GORONGOSA NATIONAL PARK - MOZAMBIQUE


The Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique through its Communication Director, Mr. Vasco Galante, granted once again as he did back in 2007, his total support to TAA09.

Pilots will use the Chitengo runway to land and to park the aircrafts and all the TAA09 entourage will be lodged in the Chitengo Camp bungalows. Once again, the TAA09 organizers thanks this valuable aid in order to minimize the expedition's costs and they hope to deliver a good publicity return to the Park, as they did back in 2007 where they presented the Gorongosa National Park during 20 minutes on a prime time TV program of the portuguese tv station network, TVI and they place several photos of the Park on the TAP PORTUGAL in flight magazine, Atlantis.

The portuguese pilot Mr. Ricardo Casimiro with his twin engined aircraft, Cessna 310, made a proposal to TAA09 team of joining them in Maputo and then Johannesburg to start the TAA09, connecting Portugal /Mozambique piloting his aircraft on a western african route. All tyhe team is excited with this fantastic idea, which enable to take medicines on board of Ricardo's aircraft and suppy them on the african west coast countries, spreading the goals of TAA09.
We are all now looking for a sponsor to this amazing challenge....

To fly the Trans African Air 09 - Humanitarian Expedition, the pilots have at your disposal 9 aircrafts which 3 are already taken.

2x C172 / 2x C182/ 2x C206 / 2x C210 / 1x PA235. All the aircrafts belong to SKYAFRICA of Johannesburg except one C182 which belong to BUSHAIR in Nelspruit, South Africa.

PARTICIPANTS OF TAA09


The confirmed participants until now are: the pilots Pedro Venâncio, Carlos Fernandes, Pedro Gaivão, Eduardo Maya and Eduardo Nunes, the photographer Nuno Coimbra, the doctor Paulo Marques and Mr. Deitado, the aircraft mechanic.

There's a huge demand from other pilots to participate and in order to achieve that, they should comply with the requirements for TAA09, which is get a sponsor. For all of them, the TAA09 organization wishes good luck....

TRANS AFRICAN AIR 2009



The organization of TAA09 started at 2 months ago, for one more humanitarian expedition. Due to the huge success of the 2007 edition around Mozambique, the organizers spread their ambition and in 2009 the humanitarian expedition will overfly the astonishing landscapes of South Africa, Botswana, Zâmbia, Malawi and Mozambique.Presently the pilots are trying to reduce the costs of such expensive expedition and in a diary effort to get a sponsor.As a volunteers, these professional airline pilots will supply, once again, 2 tonnes of anti-biothics in the remote areas of Africa.
